Dress Code

Under Bye-Law 38, it is the responsibility of Members to ensure that they and their guests are aware of the Club’s Dress Code and that they comply with it.

Members, visitors, young people aged 13 and over and all others using Phyllis Court Club are required to be suitably dressed while using the Club premises.  For the benefit of Members and their guests, the Dress Code for specific areas and times within the Club are as follows:

Regatta:
Regatta is one of the highlights of the year and it is our custom to dress formally, in Regatta style. This is a tradition we cherish and wish to maintain. Please click here to see the Dress Code for Regatta.

Dining Room/Dining Room-on-Thames:
Lunch:  Smart casual this should be interpreted as a collared shirt, turtle or roll neck, and excludes all denim and sportswear including shorts, track suits and trainers and open toed sandals for gentlemen.
Dinner:  Dress for gentlemen is a tailored jacket, lounge suit, dinner suit or blazer with a tie or cravat; ties are preferable, but not compulsory.  Ladies may wear smart trousers.

Orangery:
Breakfast/Lunch:  Casual attire is permitted, this includes the wearing of denim jeans (not of the distressed variety) sportswear including shorts, tracksuits and trainers, but not open toed sandals for gentlemen.
Dinner from 6.30pm:  Smart casual this should be interpreted as a collared shirt, turtle or roll neck, and excludes all denim and sportswear including shorts, track suits and trainers and open toed sandals for gentlemen.

Bar and Lounge:     
Breakfast/Lunch:  Casual attire is permitted, this includes the wearing of denim jeans (not of the distressed variety) sportswear including shorts, tracksuits and trainers, but not open toed sandals for gentlemen.

Sunday Lunch:
Smart casual this should be interpreted as a collared shirt, turtle or roll neck, and excludes all denim and sportswear including shorts, track suits and trainers and open toed sandals for gentlemen.

Club Functions & Henley Royal Regatta Week:
Specific Dress Codes will be set out within the accompanying paperwork for each occasion.

Children and Young Persons:
Members responsible for children and young persons on the premises should ensure that the above directions on smart casual dress are interpreted sensibly and with due consideration to members.
